Collection: Parijat

Parijat was a prominent Nepali writer and poet who contributed significantly to Nepali literature. Born as Bishnu Kumari Waiba in Darjeeling, she moved to Kathmandu to pursue her studies in English literature. Despite being disappointed with the quality of Nepali novels, Parijat resolved to produce exceptional Nepali language literature herself. She wrote several acclaimed works, including the highly regarded novel "Shirish ko Phool," which won the prestigious Madan Puraskar award in 1965. Parijat's works often explored themes of love, loss, and social change and resonated with readers both in Nepal and beyond. Her dedication to producing quality literature and her significant contributions to Nepali literature has earned her a lasting place in the literary canon of Nepal.
